About the club
KSV Bambi is a Serbian culture and sports club in Vienna, founded in 1973. For more than half a century we have brought together people who care about our tradition – and about good company.
The folklore section KSD Bambi Beč has existed since 2001. Every generation dances with us: from the youngest in Zabavište to Bambi Plus. Through dance, music and costume we keep our customs alive and pass them on to children growing up in Vienna.
We perform at celebrations, concerts and community events, and besides folklore we also have a sport section. New members are always welcome – whatever their age or experience.

Our achievements
We perform all over Europe – from Belgrade and Banja Luka to Bulgaria and Slovenia.
- 2018
Overall European champions
Folklore ensemble competition in Bulgaria under UNESCO patronage, with the choreography “Oro trupa na sred sela” – dances and songs from the Niš region.

Gold plaque in Belgrade
European festival ESSF – plus the award for the choreography closest to the original tradition: “Bilo jednom u Osipaonici”.

Gold in Vrnjačka Banja
European children’s folklore festival – our youngest with the choreography “Koj’ mi ga nema na sedenću”.

We celebrated our anniversary in the Coat of Arms Hall of Vienna City Hall.

Friends in Serbia
A long friendship with KUD “Vuk Karadžić” from Osipaonica – visits to each other and joint concerts.
Where does the name Bambi come from?
The club started as a sports club called “Požarevac”. It took the name “Bambi” from the well-known Bambi sweets factory in Požarevac, which many of our first members were connected to. Folklore came in 2001 – and today it is the heart of the club.
